hfa Wins Top National Home/Building Products Marketing Awards
Hitchcock Fleming & Associates, Inc. (hfa), a full-service ad agency in Akron, Ohio, and its clients, including a brand of LP® Building Products, earned the most awards in the national Hanley Wood 2016 Brand Builder Awards. These awards further validate hfa as one of the top agencies for home and building products marketing in the country.
The Brand Builder Awards recognize the most innovative and effective marketing campaigns throughout the residential and commercial design and construction industries. Companies selected for recognition have executed campaigns that generate sales, motivate buying behavior and inspire customer loyalty.
In each award category Platinum was the highest award, followed by Gold. There were only 10 award categories, and hfa in total with its clients, including LP, won Platinum in four of them plus a Gold.
Platinum awards won were for:
- LP® BuildSmart Preferred Contractor Program (Louisiana-Pacific) – Best Channel Marketing Program.
- The BuildSmart mobile-first website provides an intuitive user experience through a custom CRM model. BuildSmart is an exclusive training and loyalty program of LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding.
- Best B2B Custom Event.
- Best Integrated Marketing Campaign.
- Best Advertising Campaign, Print.
The Gold award won was for Best B2B Custom Event.
These awards were presented Sept. 13 at the Hanley Wood 2016 Foundations Conference in Chicago.

PLATINUM: Best Channel Marketing Program
The LP BuildSmart Preferred Contractor Program was created to help contractors take their business to the limit when using LP SmartSide® products. With its mobile-first design and intuitive user experience, the LP BuildSmart website makes it easy for contractors to access online training, submit invoices on the job and earn points toward rewards. Overall, the program contributed to the growth of the LP Siding segment with a net sales of $181 million in the first quarter of 2016, and 150 new contractors have joined since its launch in January 2016.
